Local Counsel Services for FINRA Arbitration Proceedings in California
We also serve as local counsel to out-of-state attorneys in need of a securities arbitration lawyer licensed in the State of California. FINRA requires all out-of-state attorneys to associate with a California licensed attorney in light of the decision in Birbrower, Montalbano, Condon & Frank v. Superior Court, 17 Cal. 4th 119 (1998), which holds that non-California attorneys appearing in California arbitration proceedings may be engaging in the unauthorized practice of law in violation of Calif. Business & Professions Code §6125.
